New Trails Coming to Hot Springs

The City of Hot Springs, AR, has contacted IMBA about a trails plan which will include new trails just east of the Cedar Glades trail system and potentially connect downtown with the IMBA Epic LOViT, the Lake Ouachita Vista Trail. "This plan will help cement the Ride Center designation Hot Springs holds, and drive tourism into downtown allowing visitors a chance to stay, ride and spend time in Hot Springs," said Regional Director Steve Schneider. Visit Hot Springs has committed seed money to pay for this master plan, which could add 15 to 20 miles of trail.

Friends of Ouachita Trails Interested in IMBA Chapter Program

Friends of Ouachita Trails (FOOT) board members in Hot Springs, AR, will be meeting with IMBA Regional Director Steve Schneider in April about joining IMBA as a chapter. FOOT has been the trail steward organization partnering for years with the U.S. Forest Service to maintain the Ouachita/LOViT/Womble trails, around Lake Ouachita, Ouachita Mountains, and Hot Springs. "This organization is solid top to bottom and has incredible credibility with the community and local land managers. Becoming an IMBA chapter will help FOOT develop more partnerships and increase organizational capacity in the long term,” said Schneider.
